It's still Zelda. But something about both the Mario World cartoon AND the adjacent new episodes of Captain N did indeed feel lacking. Oh well, there's always the originals.

I'm actually surprised they've never made another Mario cartoon after all these years, considering Super MArio is the highest selling game franchise of all time. Mind you, I wouldn't want them to make a SHITTY cartoon, and even though I've gotten used to it in the games, I'm not sure how much I would like Charles Martinet's type of Mario voice for a whole cartoon series. But it's still surprising.Retro Revelationshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10035054609739978634noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4778893551955833444.post-43777937919856381582013-03-05T07:59:05.650-08:002013-03-05T07:59:05.650-08:00This was a great read! I have the complete Captain N series(although I've heard that there are a few missing episodes), as well as the complete Legend of Zelda series. The Zelda series seems so corny to me these days(I still like it though), whereas the Mario cartoons seem to be just fine(maybe it the difference in seriousness of the 2 games). I always thought there was something off when it came to the Super Mario World show, and you pointed it out. Maybe that was why I stopped watching the show. There's only so much a kid can take, I guess.Jasonhttp://jasonvorhees.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4778893551955833444.post-28821152576060425592013-02-22T22:20:45.336-08:002013-02-22T22:20:45.336-08:00I agree. I love the Mario 3 cartoon too, but it's just not quite as good. The weird Koopa Kids names always bothered me a little. I too love all the Mario 3 stuff, it being my all time favorite game as well. Super Mario World, I like them because I love Mario so much, but they just aren't anywhere near as good as the Super Show, or SMB 3. The cavemen were just stupid, I guess I understand why they did it, they are in Dinosaur Land after all. I just didn't like them, and Yoshi had an incredibly annoying voice. Not sure what they could have made him sound like, but not that, I would have preferred he not talk at all.

Another thing, I actually like the design of King Koopa, but I always felt they should have changed him to look like Bowser when they made SMB 3 and really established Bowsers look.

I wish they would make a new Mario cartoon (preferably hand drawn). And a new Zelda cartoon would be great too. Although I'm not sure they would ever allow that nowadays with the characters really established, I'm not sure they would allow that much dialog coming from largely silent characters. I generally don't like new versions of classic cartoons, but the new TMNT, and Voltron (two of my favorites as a kid, both of which I thought I was going to hate but actually like them a lot) have shown that they can be done right.koopzillahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06995772633304568494noreply@blogger.com
